Bad Bunny is the son of Lysaurie Ocasio Declet, a schoolteacher, and Benito Martínez, a truck driver. His name comes from a time he was forced to wear a bunny costume at school.

Bad Bunny’s maternal grandfather was named Francisco Ocasio Santiago (the son of parents surnamed Ocasio and Santiago).
