Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has shown full faith in Fred Vasseur in light of the recent departures from the team. The Italian quite recently bid farewell to its Chief Technical Officer, Enrico Cardile, who is set to join Aston Martin in 2025.
Fred Vasseur has been nothing short of influential for Ferrari since he arrived at the start of the 2023 season. Vasseur’s tactics have played a crucial role in the team’s resurgence after a vividly weak spell until 2022.
Charles Leclerc has backed the Frenchman’s abilities in managing the Maranello-based outfit in an extremely potent manner. Vasseur is set to serve as the interim CTO for the team until a permanent personnel is assigned.
When it comes to this issue, I have always had 200 percent confidence in what Fred is doing. Obviously Enrico has now left the team. I also know that Fred will not remain [interim] technical director for a very, very long time and in the meantime I have complete trust in Fred to manage the situation in the best possible way.Charles Leclerc said to Motorsport
Ferrari has looked shaky over the past few races despite starting the 2024 campaign in commanding form. Going forward, the outfit will look to utilize the summer break to deliver strong performances from the Dutch GP onwards.
Fred Vasseur shares importance of continuous improvement within Ferrari
Fred Vasseur has pressed on the need for multiple issues to be resolved and improved within Ferrari. Vasseur’s philosophy entails the implementation of a calculative but aggressive approach to get solid results.
I think it would be a mistake to imagine there is a ‘To-Do’ list because it’s much more about a continuous improvement approach. We don’t have to do one thing and it’s done. My ‘To-Do’ list is to convince everyone at the factory it’s like this. Every single day, we have to try and do a better job than yesterday.Fred Vasseur told Formula1
The Frenchman has urged the team to not focus on a singular issue but rather on all-round development. Vasseur strongly believes in the improvement of the squad with the help of consistent efforts.
Keeping aside the hardships, Vasseur has claimed that the team’s mood has been alright. The Frenchman will hope for the Maranello-based outfit to build on their strengths to get back on strong terms in the title race.
