GRESHAM, Ore. - Detectives are trying to figure out how an 18-year-old woman ended up dead in a Gresham storage unit.
Anisa Marie Swearingen was originally reported missing in Portland on July 18. Three days later, police in Gresham found her body inside a unit at the Money Saver Mini Storage facility on NE Halsey.
A manager at the facility opened the unit after noticing a foul smell. He found her decomposed body inside, according to Sgt. Claudio Grandjean with the Gresham Police Department.
After an autopsy, police identified her as Swearingen.
Detectives are now trying to find anybody who might have seen Swearingen before her death. She was four feet, eleven inches tall and weighed 115 pounds.
She had brown hair, brown eyes and several tattoos. The tattoos included musical notes on her neck, the named "Shiloh" on the back of her neck and other tattoos on her hand.
