Bethesda’s behemoth of a game does not have as long a main storyline as you would expect.
Starfield is Bethesda’s newest game in a line of massive open-world RPGs, set 50 light-years outside the solar system in an area known as the Settled Systems. The year is 2310, and two factions, known as the Freestar Collective and the United Colonies, are facing off in a war known as the Colony War.
When the game starts, your character is introduced as a miner working in the Settled Systems for an organization of space explorers known as the Constellation.
The ambitions of space exploration and the romance surrounding discovery and expeditions have faded. That is – until your character finds a strange artifact, which sets off the events surrounding the game’s main story and takes you on a journey into the unknown.
With 19 missions considered core to the narrative, the main storyline of Starfield centers around tracking a set of artifacts. You will find one of them during the game’s opening in Vectera. While tracking these artifacts, you will come to find out about how humans mastered intergalactic travel as well as the fate of Planet Earth.
You should note that the main story is only a small part of the game, and its true strengths lie in its open world’s side content and world-building. However, this list should be useful if you want to rush through the main story or if you want to know how far into the story you are.
