Stephen Curry was small, same thing as me Sonya revealed how she had a contribution in buildin

Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter to have ever played in the NBA. He has backed some of the craziest endorsement deals with multi-billion-dollar brands, courtesy to changing the modern-day basketball game for good. Moreover, Stephen Curry is also reported to have an excellent relationship with both of his parents Sonya and Dell – even after his parents decided to split and end their 33 years of marriage.

However, just like every-their-kid, Stephen Curry had the help of his mother in improving his game from the 3-Point mark. While one might understand that Dell had a huge role in building Stephen Curry’s game against the taller companions of his age. Sonya went onto reveal how she guided Steph in an early age to bring his form in the right direction.

Stephen Curry was helped by mom to improve shooting stance

“He actually had his mother shot,” Sonya shared the story. “From the hip. It was good form, but it was from the hip. So, going from being really successful at it, shooting threes, because he was small, same thing with me. Being small in high school. So, he was accurate with it, but it just wouldn’t suffice to the next level, with him being the size that he was. Then Dell took over from there.”

Stephen Curry got past Ray Allen as the player with the most three-pointers. In this recently concluded 2021-22 season, itself, he has gotten away. The Golden State Warriors marquee now has 3,117 three-pointers in his career. Curry was always a great shooter but that only happened because of his training.

Given that there were huge expectations from the 3-Point King ever since he came into the league, Curry has finally managed to lead his team against all odds. While many thought Steph would lack in the deeper stages without Kevin Durant by his side, his first NBA Finals MVP might be the first of many to come. Having secured the accolade of the NBA Finals MVP for the first time in his career, will he finally go onto add to his tally of regular season MVP in the upcoming 2022-23 season? Remains to be seen.
