Pullman, WASHINGTON (KLEW) — A three-year-old child with autism has been found after going missing over the weekend.
According to the Whitman County Sheriff's Office, the boy was reported missing at 9:30 p.m. last Friday. Deputies then began a search and rescue in the area where the boy was reported missing.
Several local law enforcement agencies responded to the search with over 75 search responders assisting in the search for the missing boy.
Law enforcement agencies used infrared drones in the area to help locate the child. A heat signal about a mile away from the boy's home was detected.
Police located the boy in a field three hours after he was reported missing. He was checked by EMTs and returned home safely to his family.
"The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office is grateful for all those who responded to help find this missing child and return him safely to his family." The Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
